Douglas Ward

Trainer/Manager–Kansas City Division

After years of training at some of the most respected gyms in the country and a brief career in the amateurs, Doug turned his focus to the development of young talent and teaching the finer points of coaching fighters.  With a handful of fighters and a basement full of boxing gear, Doug started the underground boxing company and transformed it into a complete management/training system...one that is geared towards developing the fighter.  Along with the rest of the team, the underground has branched out into Las Vegas, the boxing capital of the world, and has begun to take a higher profile position in the sport.

James Pena

Trainer–Las Vegas Division

Born into a boxing family, James had laced up the gloves and started his amateur boxing career by the time he was eight years old. His Uncle was world class middleweight, Marcos Geraldo, who was a regular fixture in the top ten throughout the 80's and was instrumental in instilling a passion for boxing that would fuel James' fire during his ten year career as an amateur. After amassing a 66-4 record, James "held down the fort" at the world renowned, Nevada Partners Gym. As assistant gym manager for over six years, James gained a wealth of experience from numerous world champions and legendary trainers that passed through the gym doors there. He currently spends much of his time working with corporate clients and the UBC's brightest prospects.
